Third suspect arrested in deadly Amarillo apartment complex shooting


The Amarillo Police Department announced Thursday that a third suspect has been arrested in connection with the deadly shooting at the Westminster Apartments earlier this month.

According to APD, 17-year-old Excellent Vyizigiro was taken into custody on a murder warrant and booked into the Potter County Detention Center on a felony murder charge.

Investigators said all three suspects connected to the case are expected to face 10 counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon along with 10 counts related to a mass shooting.

Authorities previously identified 20-year-old Eh Gay Htoo Win as one of the suspects in custody. He faces charges including unlawful carrying of a weapon by a gang member, tampering with evidence, failure to identify, and murder.

Another suspect, 17-year-old Jame Htoo, was also arrested and charged with murder. Police said he had earlier been taken into custody in May on a charge of evading arrest or detention.

The shooting happened May 2 at the Westminster Apartments, located at 2415 S. Coulter Street in Amarillo. Two people were killed and 10 others were injured during the incident.

The victims who died were identified as 17-year-old Ezekiel Rudy Almanza and a 16-year-old Deven Antonucci.

The investigation remains ongoing.
