Potter County Fire-Rescue expands coverage with 24-hour staffing at two stations

Potter County Fire-Rescue has announced a significant expansion of its emergency services, transitioning Fire Station 3 and Fire Station 5 to 24-hour staffing. The change is intended to reduce response times and enhance coverage for residents throughout the county.

In a statement on Facebook, Potter County Fire-Rescue described the move as a “historic milestone in public safety.” The department said the new schedule ensures that a professional crew is available to respond to emergencies at any time, day or night, every day of the year.

“We are thrilled to announce a major leap forward in our mission to protect the lives and property of our citizens. As of today, Fire Station 3 and Fire Station 5 are officially transitioned to 24-hour staffing, 365 days a year,” the department said.

The post emphasized the role of local leadership in making the expansion possible. “This landmark achievement ensures that a professional crew is ready to respond at a moment's notice, day or night. This transition would not have been possible without the unwavering support and vision of our County leadership. We would like to extend our deepest gratitude to County Judge Nancy Tanner and Commissioners Kelly, Schaffer, Coffee, and Coble. Their commitment to public safety has paved the way for this historic day,” the department said.

Potter County Fire-Rescue added that the expansion reflects its ongoing commitment to serving the county’s residents. “Thank you to the residents of Potter County for your continued support as we grow to serve you better!” the statement concluded.

The 24-hour staffing at Fire Stations 3 and 5 is expected to improve emergency response times and increase overall public safety in Potter County, officials said.
