Randall Edges Canyon in Thriller
After a challenging non-district schedule, the Randall Raiders are finally hitting their stride, and it showed in a hard-fought home victory over arch-rival Canyon. Randall eked out a 63-61 win Tuesday at the Leslie Broadhurst Gymnasium, completing a comeback that had fans on the edge of their seats.
The Raiders fell behind early, trailing 24-9 after the first quarter. But Randall steadily chipped away at the Eagles’ lead, narrowing the gap to 35-28 by halftime. By the end of the third quarter, Randall had closed within five at 49-44, setting the stage for a dramatic finish. The Raiders outscored Canyon 19-12 in the final period to seal the win.
Braylon Thompson led the way for Randall with 14 points, while Eddie Cruz added 12 and Landon Mayo contributed 11. Clayton Wilcox carried the offensive load for Canyon, scoring 17 points in the loss. The victory moves Randall to 2-0 in District 4-4A and 5-16 overall, while Canyon drops to 1-1 in league play with a 16-5 record.
Tascosa Stuns Palo Duro
Tascosa lit up the scoreboard against Palo Duro, led by a career night from LaDarius Godbolt. Godbolt poured in 40 points, single-handedly propelling the Rebels to a 65-56 victory in a pivotal District 3-5A clash at home.
Ben Kenney helped out with nine points, while Palo Duro’s Cuda Clayton scored a team-high 28 in the loss. Tascosa now stands at 4-1 in district play and 15-5 overall, keeping itself in the hunt at the top of the league. The Dons, meanwhile, fall to 4-1 in district and 15-4 overall.

Canyon Handles Randall in District Showdown
In a matchup of previously unbeaten district teams, the Lady Eagles asserted themselves with a dominant second quarter to defeat Randall 53-38. Canyon improves to 4-0 in District 4-4A and 17-2 overall, while Randall falls to 3-1 in league play and 9-15 on the season.
Canyon led 21-15 after the first quarter, but a suffocating defensive effort in the second allowed just three Randall points, giving the Lady Eagles a 31-18 halftime cushion. Tai Wright, Thresa Mode, and Gracie Lunsford led the balanced attack with 11 points each, while Kennah Thomas had 13 points for Randall.
Tascosa Edges Palo Duro in Nail-Biter
The Lady Rebels faced a packed house and came away with a narrow 49-45 win over Palo Duro. The game stayed tight throughout, with Tascosa managing to hold off a late surge from the Lady Dons. Tascosa improves to 6-1 in district play and 21-2 overall, keeping pace at the top of District 3-5A. Palo Duro remains competitive at 5-2 in the district and 21-6 overall.
Kenzee Dickson led the Lady Rebels with 11 points, supported by Devaeh Johnson’s nine. Zeinab Dang scored a game-high 15 points for Palo Duro, with Braya Smith adding 12.
