Interim Amarillo City Manager Andrew Freeman has stepped down from his position as Interim City Manager, effective immediately. Freeman has returned to his role as Deputy City Manager, where he has consistently demonstrated his dedication to the City of Amarillo and its residents.
Freeman expressed his intention to support the City Council in their endeavors, stating, "It has been an honor to serve as Interim City Manager, but I believe it is in the best interest of the City for me to step aside at this time. My priority is to ensure that the Council can continue to operate the City in the manner they deem best for our community."
Freeman also conveyed his excitement to continue working for the citizens of Amarillo in his capacity as Deputy City Manager. "I am eager to return to my role as Deputy City Manager and remain committed to serving my fellow community members, and city employees, to the best of my ability," he added.
