Canyon Independent School District will offer a new full-time virtual learning option for high school students beginning with the 2026-27 school year.
The program, called CISD Choice, is available to students in grades 9 through 12 and partners with Texas Tech K-12 to provide online instruction while allowing students to remain enrolled in Canyon ISD and earn a district diploma.
According to district officials, students enrolled in CISD Choice will complete online coursework through Texas Tech K-12 while also having access to elective courses and Advanced Placement opportunities taught by educators from across Texas.
“Families are looking for educational options that best support their students’ individual needs,” Canyon ISD Superintendent Darryl Flusche said. “CISD Choice expands educational opportunities for families while providing another pathway for students to achieve their goals. No matter the pathway, our commitment remains the same—to empower every learner for lifelong success.”
District officials said the program may be a strong fit for students transitioning from homeschool or private school, students seeking a more flexible schedule, or those who thrive in an independent learning environment.
“CISD Choice reflects Canyon ISD’s commitment to meeting students where they are while continuing to provide the academic excellence and student support that define our district,” Flusche said.
Registration for the program opens July 20. Families interested in enrolling for the 2026-27 school year must submit an online application by Sept. 1 and attend a required orientation before acceptance into the program.
