More arrests made in Plum Creek Apartments shooting


Amarillo police have announced three additional arrests as investigators continue working to unravel the circumstances surrounding a shooting that occurred Wednesday at the Plum Creek Apartments in the 5900 block of Plum Creek.

According to the Amarillo Police Department, the arrests stem from ongoing efforts by Violent Crimes Detectives, Task Force Officers, and personnel from the Amarillo Regional Crime Center (ARCC).

Authorities arrested 18-year-old Davion Ashley on a warrant charging him with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. In addition to the warrant, Ashley was also charged with resisting arrest and assault on a peace officer before being booked into the Potter County Detention Center.

Investigators also identified 20-year-old Jacob Jimenez Jr. as a suspect during the course of the investigation. Detectives obtained a warrant charging him with tampering with evidence. Jimenez was taken into custody and booked into the Potter County Detention Center. He additionally faces charges of resisting arrest, assault on a peace officer, manufacture or delivery of a controlled substance in Penalty Group 2 over four ounces, and tampering or fabricating physical evidence with intent to impair.

A third suspect, 18-year-old Awetik Rahma, was arrested on a warrant charging tampering or fabricating physical evidence with intent to impair. Rahma was also booked into the Potter County Detention Center.

Police said the investigation remains active, and additional information is expected to be released as detectives continue their work.

The shooting investigation is ongoing, and authorities have not yet disclosed further details regarding the events that led to the arrests.
