Amarillo police seek public’s help in hotel homicide investigation


The Amarillo Police Department is asking for the public’s assistance as detectives continue investigating a homicide at a west Amarillo hotel.

Officers responded around 10:30 a.m. Monday, May 11, to the Fifth Season Inn at 6801 W. Interstate 40 after receiving a report of a deceased man inside one of the rooms.

Police identified the victim as 61-year-old George Glen Eggleston, who had been staying at the hotel. During the investigation, officers determined Eggleston died from a gunshot wound.

Authorities said Eggleston’s next of kin has been notified. Detectives with the Amarillo Police Homicide Unit are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding his death.
