The Amarillo Area Foundation (AAF) is preparing to open its ninth annual “The Panhandle Gives” campaign, a regional fundraising effort supporting nonprofits across the 26-county Texas Panhandle. The 2025 campaign will run from Nov. 24 through Dec. 2 and is designed to boost local charitable work through a mix of community giving and financial matching.
The campaign will begin with a public kickoff event at 10 a.m. on Nov. 24 at the AAF offices. The event will also highlight the foundation’s new president and CEO, Keralee Clay, who is helping lead this year’s effort. Organizers describe the campaign as a way to strengthen the region by pooling generosity and turning individual contributions into larger, shared impact.
According to AAF, any nonprofit eligible for its grants may register to take part in the program. Participating organizations retain all the funds they raise during the campaign period. Groups that collect at least $250 also qualify for additional support from the Amplification Fund, a shared pool that distributes matching dollars proportionally to eligible participants. This structure is intended to lift smaller organizations and help every contribution go further.
The foundation notes that the campaign has grown significantly since its inception. In 2024, participating nonprofits collectively raised $11.7 million, demonstrating the region’s enthusiasm for coordinated giving and collaborative problem-solving. AAF leaders hope to see similarly strong results this year.
Supporters can browse the full list of participating nonprofits on the campaign website, where donations may be directed to specific organizations. The online platform allows donors to contribute to as many as 10 groups in a single transaction. Gifts may also be directed to the Amplification Fund itself, offering another way to boost the collective pool that benefits qualifying nonprofits. Larger contributions can be handled through designated partner banks.
