Fireworks and drone show set for July 5 at Amarillo’s John Stiff Park


The City of Amarillo Parks and Recreation Department (PARD), in collaboration with local nonprofit Outdoor Amarillo, has announced the return of the popular Independence Day +1 Fireworks and Drone Show on Friday, July 5 at John Stiff Memorial Park.

This free community celebration begins at 3:30 p.m. and offers a full evening of entertainment, food, and family-friendly activities, culminating in a large-scale fireworks and drone show.

Outdoor Amarillo, a nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting outdoor recreation and community engagement, has teamed up with PARD to bring this event to life for residents and visitors alike.

Live Music Schedule:

4:00 p.m. – Cameron James Smith

7:00 p.m. – Piñata Protest

8:30 p.m. – Cooder Graw (headliner)

Event Highlights Include:

Food Trucks: A diverse lineup of local food trucks selected through community input.

Beer Garden: Open to attendees 21 and older with valid ID.

Fun Zone for Kids: Games and activities designed for children of all ages.

Carnival Rides: Three free rides, including a kid-friendly Ferris wheel, swings, and a small pirate ship ride.

Cornhole Tournament: A doubles competition with a cash prize. Pre-registration is encouraged, but walk-ups will be accepted. Registration details are available on the PARD website.

Fireworks and Drone Show:

The event will conclude with a fireworks and drone show sponsored by Austin Hose. This visually stunning finale will feature synchronized music, which attendees can hear by tuning in to 97.9 KGNC.

Parking and Transportation:

Free on-site parking will be available. In addition, shuttle service will be provided from Amarillo High School and Randall High School parking lots to ease traffic flow and improve accessibility.
