Beginning Monday, Oct. 28, crews will begin work on a $5.9 million safety improvement project on SE 10th Ave. in Amarillo from Garfield Street to Ross Street.
Improvements to Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) fixtures, crosswalks, sidewalks, lighting, as well as shared-use paths are expected to improve the connectivity, mobility, and safety on this stretch of SE 10th Ave. for the traveling public.
The project is expected to be completed in summer 2025. Drivers can expect various lane closures on this roadway during construction. We appreciate the public’s patience as we work to deliver them a quality but most importantly a safe product.
Please drive with caution and reduce speed through all work zones. All projects are subject to change due to weather, emergency work and other unexpected events. Allow yourself enough time to safely reach your destination if these closures affect your commute. For the most up-to-date road conditions, visit www.drivetexas.org.
