Republican Amanda Mayfield defeated Democrat David Martinez in the race for Potter County Justice of the Peace, Precinct 1.

Mayfield secured 64% of the vote, while Martinez received 35%, giving the Republican candidate a commanding victory in the contest.

The results put Mayfield ahead by 29 percentage points in the race for the Precinct 1 justice of the peace seat.

The justice of the peace court handles a variety of matters, including certain civil cases, misdemeanor offenses, and other duties assigned under Texas law.

Mayfield's victory keeps the Precinct 1 seat in Republican hands.
