Democrat Timothy Gassaway has defeated Republican Jose Perez in the race for Potter County Commissioner, Precinct 4, in the November 3, 2026, general election.
According to election results, Gassaway received approximately 67% of the vote, while Perez received about 32%, giving Gassaway a decisive victory in the race.
The win follows a successful Democratic primary campaign earlier this year, when Gassaway defeated current Precinct 4 Commissioner Warren Coble Sr. in March. Gassaway received 55.24% of the primary vote, compared to Coble's 44.76%.
Gassaway's victory marks a change in leadership for Precinct 4, which Coble currently represents on the Potter County Commissioners Court.
As commissioner, Gassaway will help make decisions affecting Potter County residents, including county spending, infrastructure, roads and other local government services.
The Precinct 4 contest was among several closely watched local races in Potter County this election cycle, with changes coming to the county's leadership following both the March primaries and November general election.
