The volleyball season is heating up across the Texas Panhandle, and several area teams are starting to find their stride. Amarillo High and Tascosa remain perfect in district play, while Randall and Bushland continue piling up wins.

Amarillo High Rolls Past Monterey, Extends District Streak

Amarillo High continues to make winning district matches look routine. The Lady Sandies went on the road Tuesday and dominated Lubbock Monterey in straight sets, 25-14, 25-13, 25-11. AHS improved to 17-8 overall and 3-0 in district play while extending its remarkable district winning streak to 70 matches dating back to 2020. Harper Vaughan delivered a big night with a double-double, hammering down 17 kills and adding 10 digs. The Lady Sandies remain the team everyone else in the district is chasing.

Tascosa Keeps Pace With Win Over Lubbock-Cooper

Tascosa isn't letting rival Amarillo High get away in the district race. The Lady Rebels took care of Lubbock-Cooper at home Tuesday, sweeping the Lady Pirates 25-18, 25-17, 25-20. Tascosa improved to 13-12 overall and, more importantly, stayed perfect in district play at 3-0. Lubbock-Cooper dropped to 20-6 overall and 2-1 in league action. Presley Ward sparked the Lady Rebels with a double-double of 13 kills and 10 digs.

Caprock Sweeps Palo Duro for First District Win

Caprock broke into the District 3-5A win column in convincing fashion Tuesday night. The Lady Longhorns swept crosstown rival Palo Duro 25-15, 25-20, 25-22 to improve to 5-12 overall and 1-2 in district play. Jesslyn Gonzalez was all over the court defensively, collecting 26 digs while adding three aces. Annabella Sena gave Caprock another boost with 10 kills and seven digs. It was a much-needed victory for the Lady Longhorns as they look to build some momentum in district play.

Liberty Gets Revenge With Sweep of Canyon

Lubbock-Cooper Liberty didn't have to wait long to get another shot at Canyon. After losing to the Lady Eagles in four sets during the Randall Showcase, the Lady Patriots turned the tables with a 25-21, 25-20, 25-14 sweep in non-district action. Liberty improved to 16-6 behind a huge performance from Lexie Allgood, who slammed down 20 kills and added seven digs. Ella Hurst chipped in 10 digs, while Bree Weatherly directed the offense with 19 assists. Canyon fell to 18-6 despite Laney Jones pounding down 14 kills and Klair Stone collecting 18 digs.

Morrison Earns Career Win No. 400 as Randall Stays Hot

Randall's strong start to the season reached a special milestone Tuesday night. The Lady Raiders rolled past Shallowater 25-13, 25-10, 25-15, giving head coach Karli Morrison her 400th career victory over 14 seasons. Morrison, a Dalhart graduate who previously coached at Levelland and Lubbock-Cooper, has built Randall into one of the area's top programs. Chloe Brown powered the offense with 19 kills, while Kambree Gonzalez added 10 kills. Randall improved to 21-5 after following up its 4-0 run at the Randall Showcase with another dominant performance.

Bushland Outlasts West Plains in Four-Set Battle

Bushland is rolling, but West Plains made the Lady Falcons work for this one. After dropping the opening set, Bushland battled back for a 23-25, 25-15, 27-25, 31-29 victory over the Lady Wolves. Berklee Billington led the way with a double-double, putting down 17 kills and collecting 19 digs. Charley Freeman anchored the defense with 34 digs, while Jaida Scott handed out 32 assists. Bushland improved to 22-6 overall, while West Plains slipped to 13-10.
