High school volleyball teams across the Texas Panhandle continued early-season and district action Tuesday night, with several area programs picking up convincing sweeps. Bushland, Amarillo High, Tascosa, Canyon, West Plains, Randall, River Road and Highland Park were among the teams earning victories.

Bushland sweeps Dumas in non-district action

Bushland controlled the action Tuesday night, sweeping Dumas 25-16, 25-11, 15-6 in a non-district match that was called during the third set. The Lady Falcons improved to 14-5 overall, while the Demonettes fell to 11-4. Berklee Billington and Laynee Adams combined for 18 kills with nine apiece, while Adams added five aces. Morgan Eberly handed out 10 assists and Jaida Scott added nine for Bushland.

Amarillo High extends district winning streak to 69

Amarillo High extended its six-year District 3-5A winning streak to 69 consecutive matches with a 25-10, 25-5, 25-8 sweep of Caprock on Tuesday at the Amarillo High Activity Center. The Lady Sandies improved to 13-7 overall and 2-0 in district, while Caprock dropped to 4-12 and 0-2. Dillan Ray led Amarillo High with 18 assists and Stella Crawford added 12. Anzley Davis paced the defense with 14 digs.

Tascosa stays unbeaten in district play

Tascosa remained unbeaten in District 3-5A with a 25-16, 27-25, 25-10 sweep of Lubbock Monterey on Tuesday night. The Lady Rebels improved to 11-9 overall and 2-0 in district. Monterey fell to 9-6 overall and 1-1 in league play. Blaire Whatley powered the Tascosa offense with 14 kills, while Kori Nickerson recorded 13 digs.

Frenship wins first rivalry matchup with Memorial

Frenship claimed the first meeting in its new rivalry with Frenship Memorial, earning a 25-18, 25-13, 25-20 district sweep Tuesday at Memorial. Senior Reese Roberts led the Lady Tigers with a double-double of 13 kills and 14 digs. Frenship improved to 13-8 overall and 2-0 in District 3-5A. Memorial dropped to 7-11 overall and 0-2 in district.

Lubbock High sweeps Palo Duro

Lubbock High picked up a District 3-5A victory Tuesday night with a sweep of Palo Duro. The Lady Westerners controlled the match with wins of 25-10, 25-10 and 25-15.

Canyon takes down Plainview

Canyon earned a home sweep of Plainview on Tuesday night, winning 25-14, 25-23, 25-19. The Lady Eagles improved to 14-5 overall with the victory. Laney Jones led Canyon at the net with 11 kills. Brylee McElroy directed the offense with 17 assists.

West Plains handles Plainview in triangular

West Plains defeated Plainview 25-23, 25-20, 25-8 during a triangular Tuesday at Joe Lombard Gymnasium at Canyon High School. The Lady Wolves improved to 12-9 overall. Teagan Hudson led the offense with 16 kills. Sophie Williams posted a double-double with 19 assists and 14 digs.

Randall rolls past Dalhart

Randall cruised to a 25-13, 25-9, 25-14 non-district sweep of Dalhart at home Tuesday. The Lady Raiders improved to 16-5 overall. Sophomore Chloe Brown delivered a double-double with 12 kills and 16 digs. Brown also recently surpassed 500 career kills and 500 career digs.

River Road sweeps Tulia

River Road picked up a non-district victory with a 25-20, 25-15, 25-17 sweep of Tulia on Tuesday. The Lady Wildcats improved to 9-4 overall. Junior Gracie Froneman turned in a double-double with 11 kills and 12 assists. Froneman also added two aces in the victory.

Highland Park gets past Shamrock

Highland Park swept Shamrock 25-15, 25-18, 25-21 on Tuesday. The Lady Hornets improved to 12-3 overall with the victory. Kaitlin Lucas directed the Highland Park offense with 28 assists. Alexis Perez capitalized with a team-high eight kills.
