Panhandle Veterans Expo to connect veterans with benefits and resources in Amarillo

Veterans across the Texas Panhandle will have an opportunity to access benefits assistance, healthcare information, employment resources, and community support during the upcoming Panhandle Veterans Expo on Saturday in Amarillo.

The free event, hosted by the Texas Veterans Commission (TVC) in partnership with the Texas Veterans Land Board (VLB), will take place from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Amarillo Civic Center South Exhibit Hall, located at 401 S. Buchanan St.

Designed as a one-stop resource event, the expo will bring together state, federal, and local organizations to help veterans, service members, and their families navigate available benefits and services. Organizers say the goal is to make it easier for veterans to connect directly with experts who can provide assistance and answer questions in a single location.

Attendees will have access to support with VA claims, healthcare enrollment, education benefits, employment opportunities, entrepreneurship resources, and veteran networking programs. Claims advisors will also be available to provide guidance and help veterans begin or advance claims-related processes during the event.

The Texas Veterans Commission says many veterans and family members are unaware of the benefits available to them or are uncertain about how to access them. By bringing multiple agencies and service providers together, the expo aims to reduce barriers and provide immediate support for those seeking assistance.

Veterans who need help with VA claims or healthcare services are encouraged to bring a copy of their DD214.

The Texas Veterans Land Board will also provide information about veteran-exclusive land sales, Texas State Veterans Homes, Texas State Veterans Cemeteries, and the statewide Veterans Call Center.

In addition to benefits assistance, attendees will be able to connect with community organizations and local veteran service groups. Participating partners include the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, Combined Arms/Texas Veterans Network, and other veteran-focused organizations serving the region.

A complimentary lunch will be available for attendees, sponsored by Bell Flight and Heroes Home Care.

Veterans, active-duty service members, and family members are encouraged to attend. Registration and additional event information are available through the Texas Veterans Commission.
