Randall High School has found its next leader for the Raiders baseball program.
Canyon ISD announced Tuesday that Taylor Allen has been hired as the new head baseball coach at Randall High School. Allen arrives after spending more than a decade at Caprock High School, where he served as an assistant baseball coach for 11 seasons before taking over as the Longhorns' head coach last year.
Allen replaces Brad Propst, who was hired to lead the Raiders in July 2023.
According to Canyon ISD Athletic Director John Peterson, Allen brings the experience and leadership needed to continue Randall’s tradition of success. Peterson said Allen is focused on building a disciplined, hard-working culture while developing student-athletes both on and off the field, making him an excellent fit for the Randall community.
Allen also has familiarity with members of Randall’s athletic staff. During his time at Caprock, he coached Longhorns football alongside Dan Sherwood and Ckyler Artis, both of whom joined Randall in 2023.
