The Fourth of July is always one of the biggest celebrations of the year, but 2026 promises to be even more memorable as communities across the Texas Panhandle commemorate America's 250th anniversary with fireworks, parades, rodeos, concerts, and family-friendly festivities.
From Amarillo's spectacular fireworks and drone show to patriotic celebrations stretching from Canyon to Lake Meredith, residents and visitors will have no shortage of ways to celebrate Independence Day.
Amarillo Red, White & Boom! Returns to John Stiff Park
The City of Amarillo's Parks and Recreation Department, in partnership with Outdoor Amarillo, will host Amarillo Red, White & Boom! beginning at 5 p.m. Friday, July 4, at John Stiff Park.
The free celebration will conclude with a dazzling combination of fireworks and a synchronized drone light show, honoring the nation's semiquincentennial—the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence.
City officials noted that weather and fire conditions will determine whether fireworks can safely be launched. If conditions are deemed unsafe, the fireworks portion of the show will be rescheduled.
Thousands packed John Stiff Park for last year's Independence Day celebration, and organizers expect another large crowd for this historic milestone.
