Two men arrested in connection to downtown Amarillo shooting incident


Authorities have arrested two men in connection with a shooting investigation in downtown Amarillo that began on May 8 near the intersection of 7th Avenue and South Polk Street.

According to the Amarillo Police Department, investigators identified the suspects as 24-year-old Dylan Black and 18-year-old Carlos Noel Martinez following an altercation tied to the incident.

During the investigation, officers recovered two firearms believed to be connected to the shooting. Police said no victims suffering gunshot wounds have been identified at this time.

Both suspects were arrested on weapons-related charges. Black was booked into the Randall County Detention Center, while Martinez was booked into the Potter County Detention Center.

Investigators say the case remains active as authorities continue gathering information related to the incident.
