Juveniles arrested after two Amarillo shootings, six people unharmed

Two juveniles were arrested Tuesday night following shooting incidents in Amarillo that left six people unharmed, according to the Amarillo Police Department.

Officers first responded to reports of gunfire at a home near Southeast 24th Avenue and South Houston Street. Investigators determined two people were inside the residence at the time of the shooting, but neither was injured.

Midnight patrol officers, Violent Crimes detectives, the Gang Unit, and PACE officers launched an investigation into the incident.

While officers were still investigating, a second shots-fired call came in from the area of Northeast 12th and Northeast 20th avenues near Jasmine Street. Responding officers located four additional victims at that scene, all of whom were also uninjured.

Investigators later identified two juvenile suspects connected to the shootings. Both suspects were arrested and booked on six counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

The investigation remains ongoing.
