Scouting for Food Drive Set for Saturday

Local Scouts will canvass Amarillo neighborhoods this Saturday to collect food donations for the 2026 Scouting for Food “Good Turn” program, benefiting the High Plains Food Bank. The annual drive is one of the largest spring food collection efforts in the Texas Panhandle, emphasizing community service and support for families in need.

Troops and packs will notify residents of pickup details, and those unsure if their area is included can contact the Golden Spread Council for confirmation. Residents outside pickup routes can still donate online or drop off food at the High Plains Food Bank warehouse during designated hours. Organizers say the most-needed items include peanut butter, pasta, boxed dinners, and canned goods.
