The Amarillo Police Department is investigating after a 72-year-old man was found dead Monday morning in the 9300 block of SE 3rd Avenue.
Officers responded to a report of a person found deceased at approximately 8:51 a.m. Upon arrival, the man was pronounced dead at the scene.
“At this time, there are no indications of foul play, and the death is being investigated as a sudden death,” the police department said in a statement.
Authorities have not released the man’s name, citing ongoing efforts to notify next of kin. An autopsy has been scheduled for Wednesday in Lubbock to determine the cause of death.
