One man was injured after a fight and a shooting at the Music Box early Saturday.
The incident occurred at about 12:25 a.m. at 907 S. Madison, according to the Amarillo Police Department. Officers responded after receiving reports of a shooting and at least one person being taken to a local hospital.
When officers arrived they learned a physical altercation inside the business escalated into gunfire. Witnesses told police the suspected shooter and an employee got into an argument; the suspect allegedly pulled a gun and the two began fighting. During that struggle the suspect fired, striking one person who was then transported to an area hospital.
Police said two other men at the scene also fired at the suspected shooter in what they described as self-defense. The suspected shooter managed to leave the scene before officers arrived.
Officers arrested one unidentified man at the scene on outstanding warrants; he was booked into the Potter County Jail. Police have not released the identity of the person taken to the hospital, nor have they confirmed any additional charges related to the shooting.
