Randall keeps rolling
The Randall Lady Raiders continued their stranglehold on District 4-4A with a sweep on the road at Pampa on Saturday, 25-21, 25-18, 25-17. Randall remains unbeaten in league play at 6-0 and improves to 20-12 overall, while the Lady Harvesters fell to 17-9 and an even 3-3 in district.
Chloe Brown led the charge with a powerful double-double, pounding down 17 kills to go with 11 digs. Amber Matthews provided strong support with 14 kills, and libero Kambree Gonzalez was sharp defensively, digging out 25 balls in the back row.
West Plains stays on Randall’s heels
The West Plains Lady Wolves protected their home court with a dominant sweep of Dumas, 25-20, 25-13, 25-11. The win keeps West Plains one game back of Randall in the standings at 5-1, moving to 23-10 overall. Dumas dropped to 16-16 and 3-3.
Aaniyah Kitchen was unstoppable at the net, putting away 10 kills and recording four blocks. She was joined by Kynzie Ward, who tallied eight kills and three blocks. Setter Cecilia Murillo spread the offense with 18 assists, while defensive standouts Sydney Garza (16 digs) and Idaly Sotelo (14 digs) anchored the back row.
Canyon bounces back
After a midweek loss at Dumas, Canyon got back on track with a sweep of Borger, 25-23, 25-17, 25-10. Neelie Henson paced the Lady Eagles with 12 kills and a pair of aces. Setter Brylee McElroy dished out 23 assists, while Aiva Kerr added 13 digs.
Borger had a few bright spots, with Addyson Bridges contributing eight kills and three blocks, and Lexi Estrada matching her with eight kills and four digs. Canyon improves to 4-2 in district and 14-14 overall. Borger remains winless in league play at 0-6 and 9-17 overall.
District 3-5A: Amarillo High, Tascosa stay on top
Amarillo High extended its unbeaten run in District 3-5A with a convincing sweep of Palo Duro on Friday, 25-10, 25-5, 25-15. The Lady Sandies are now 9-0 in league play and 23-8 overall. Palo Duro (7-19) slipped to 1-8. Harper Vaughn turned in a double-double with 17 kills and 12 digs for the Sandies.
Tascosa stayed right behind in second place, handling Plainview in straight sets, 25-18, 25-21, 25-13. The Lady Rebels moved to 21-9 overall and 8-1 in district, while Plainview dropped to 12-16, 3-6. Harlan Singleton led Tascosa with seven kills, and Bennet Berryman anchored the defense with 20 digs.
Caprock picks up key win
Caprock picked up its second district victory on Saturday with a four-set win over Lubbock High, 25-20, 21-25, 25-21, 25-23. The Lady Longhorns improved to 2-8 in district play and 13-13 overall, while Lubbock High slipped to 5-28, 1-8.
