Among discussion items, the Council will consider posting a public check register online and possible exceptions to time-restricted parking in the downtown area.
Consent agenda items include a proposed contract to exchange 17.5 acres of city-owned water rights for 20 acres held by Mesa Vista Ranch in Roberts County. The Council will also review land donations to the city, a temporary staffing contract for the Amarillo Civic Center, and various construction, repair, and software agreements.
Key non-consent items include decisions on renewing the city’s insurance coverage, hiring auditing services, and appointing members to the Amarillo Convention and Visitors Bureau, the Beautification and Public Arts Advisory boards, and the Community Development Advisory Committee.
A major infrastructure project is also up for approval. The Council will consider awarding a construction contract for the first phase of the North Heights 2-Inch Water Line Replacement project, an effort launched in response to community advocacy for upgrades in the North Heights neighborhood. The project was initially announced in September 2024.
