Beginning Monday, Oct.14, crews will begin paving operations on US 87 and SH 217 in Canyon (see pictured map below for project details). The operations are the second phase of ADA safety upgrades that started in July of this year.
The contractor will begin on US 87 at Russel Long Boulevard and work south to the Canyon city limits. Crews will move over to SH 217 once work is completed on US 87. The $9.5 million project is expected to be completed by early 2025.
During construction, drivers can expect various lane closures on these roadways. Crews will have signs posted throughout the project limits to alert drivers what sections of roadway are closed during that time. We will provide lane closure updates as construction progresses on this project.
We appreciate the public’s patience as we work to deliver them a quality but most importantly a safe product.
Please drive with caution and reduce speed through all work zones. All projects are subject to change due to weather, emergency work and other unexpected events. Allow yourself enough time to safely reach your destination if these closures affect your commute. For the most up-to-date road conditions, visit www.drivetexas.org.
