Security guard shot on N. Fillmore; suspect still at large

The Amarillo Police Department is actively searching for a suspect after a security guard was shot Saturday night.

Officers responded to reports of gunfire around 700 N. Fillmore Street. According to police, witnesses said a man opened fire with what appeared to be an AR-style rifle, allegedly aiming at a woman. Instead, a security guard was struck during the incident.

The security guard was taken to a local hospital and is currently in stable condition, officials said.

The suspect has been identified as 41-year-old Carlos Videna. Police say he fled the scene in a white sedan and remains at large. As of Sunday morning, neither Videna nor the woman he was reportedly targeting has been found.

APD is asking the public for help. Anyone with information on the incident or the whereabouts of Videna is urged to contact the Amarillo Police Department or call Amarillo Crime Stoppers at 806-374-4400. Tips can remain anonymous.

This is a developing story, and updates will be provided as more information becomes available.
