New charges have been filed against the three men accused in the May 2 mass shooting at the Westminster Apartments in Amarillo that left two teenagers dead and 10 other people wounded.
According to Potter County court records, Eh Gay Htoo Win, Excellent Vyizigiro and Jame Htoo are now each facing two counts of murder and 10 counts of aggravated assault mass shooting.
Win is also charged with tampering or fabricating physical evidence with intent to impair, unlawful carrying of a weapon and failure to identify by giving false or fictitious information.
Vyizigiro faces an additional charge of unlawful carrying of a weapon, while Htoo is also being held on a parole violation.
The three suspects were indicted by a Potter County grand jury earlier this month on two counts of murder in connection with the shooting deaths of Ezekiel Almazan and Deven Antonucci. If convicted, they face up to life in prison.
The May 2 shooting began with a house party on Mississippi Street, according to investigators. Witnesses told police that a group of people arrived at the party with weapons and were told to leave.
The party then moved to the Westminster Apartments. Court documents show the group later tried to enter an apartment before opening fire with a rifle-style weapon.
Two teenagers were killed and 10 other people were wounded in the shooting.
Amarillo police issued a murder warrant for 17-year-old Jame Htoo on May 20. Htoo was already being held in the Potter County Jail on unrelated charges at the time.
A murder warrant was issued for 21-year-old Eh Gay Htoo Win on May 21, followed by a warrant for 17-year-old Excellent Vyizigiro on May 28.
