Kids Inc. is inviting the Amarillo community to join in celebrating the start of a new chapter in local youth sports with the groundbreaking of Rockrose Sports Park. The ceremony will take place at 4:30 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 7, at the site of the new park.
Once completed, Rockrose Sports Park will serve as the home for Kids Inc. sporting events and regional tournaments, accommodating a wide variety of activities including baseball, softball, soccer, and flag football.
According to Kids Inc. officials, the facility is designed not only to enhance youth sports opportunities but also to contribute to Amarillo’s economic growth by attracting teams and visitors from across the region. Organizers noted that naming rights are available throughout the complex.
While momentum for the project is strong, Kids Inc. leaders emphasized that the fundraising campaign has not yet reached its goal. Community members and businesses are encouraged to consider supporting the initiative, with all donors to be recognized on opening day.
