Bushland Lady Falcons dominate Dalhart to clinch 13th straight district title

The Bushland Lady Falcons added another chapter to their incredible legacy Friday night, celebrating in style with a commanding sweep of the Dalhart Golden Wolves, 25-13, 25-19, 25-16, inside a packed Falcons Gym. With the win, Bushland completed the season sweep of Dalhart and claimed the District 1-3A championship outright—for the 13th consecutive year. The Lady Falcons also extended their astonishing district win streak to 103 games, improving to 33-8 overall and a perfect 6-0 in district play.

After being pushed to the brink in their first meeting with Dalhart earlier this season, Bushland made sure there was no drama this time around. The Lady Falcons controlled the match from the first serve, combining power and precision at every level. The front row dominated with aggressive swings, while the back row delivered steady passing and relentless defense that kept the Lady Wolves from ever finding their rhythm.

Sophomore standout Berklee Billington led the charge with a brilliant all-around performance, hammering down 17 kills and matching that total with 17 digs for a stellar double-double. Senior outside hitter Laynee Adams was another offensive force, recording 14 kills as the Lady Falcons’ attack overwhelmed Dalhart.

Setters Morgan Eberly (24 assists) and Jaida Scott (21 assists) orchestrated the offense beautifully, while libero Ava Permenter anchored the defense with 22 digs, covering every inch of the court.

Despite the loss, Dalhart (29-7-2, 5-2) secured second place in the district. Kammi Maddox reached a milestone with her 1,100th career kill, leading the Lady Wolves with 13 kills and three blocks.

As the postseason looms, one thing remains clear—the dynasty in Bushland is alive and well.
