Dumbasses arguing against the right of Israel to exist

When they tell you who they are, listen to them. That should be the lesson we take away from the latest round of protests in Washington. Anti-Israel, pro-Hamas protesters showed up in the thousands and marched on the capital, threatening to tear down crowd control barriers and clash with the police. Their chants could be heard from blocks away, declaring that Israel “does not have the right to exist” and “long live the intifada.” One of the speakers led the mob in a chant saying “Biden, Biden you can’t hide! We charge you with genocide!” This is problematic for the entire country, obviously, but it’s also a thorny issue for Biden since these people come almost entirely from his base. A couple of the protesters claimed to be staffers for Biden and members of Congress, though their claims could not be verified.

From the NY Post:

Tens of thousands of protestors massed in Washington, D.C.’s Saturday chanting “Palestine will be free” and accusing President Biden of genocide at a rally demanding a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip.

“From the river to the sea, Palestine will be free,” the crowd dotted with Palestinian flags and signs cried at the start of the event, which drew attendees from across the country.

The chant – which is growing increasingly popular in the wake of Hamas’ deadly incursion into southern Israel last month and Israel’s subsequent retaliatory attacks on Gaza – is widely considered antisemitic, because it implies the elimination of the State of Israel and its people.

Later in the program, the same crowd chanted Allahu ackbar and F*** Joe Biden. That was followed by the standard “from the river to the sea” mantra we here from most of these crowds. It’s unclear if any of these people realize that they are simultaneously calling for a ceasefire or “peace” while advocating the extermination of all Jews from the entirety of Israel and the rest of the world as well. Of course, logic may not have been their strong suit to begin with.

The bottom line is that the mask has been fully pulled away at this point. It no longer matters who it was that fomented all of this antisemitic hatred on the left in America. They have adopted the most fundamental rhetoric of the Hamas terrorists. Nobody here is arguing for a “two-state solution.” They are literally arguing against the right of Israel to even exist and inciting violence against the Jewish people. They might as well be over there firing the rockets themselves.

This is not the time for partisan games on the homefront and we shouldn’t be taking any pleasure in the political difficulties the situation is creating for Joe Biden and the Democrats. That can all be settled in next year’s elections. While Joe Biden has mostly been a disaster as a president, at least in my opinion, when it comes to the current situation in Israel and Gaza, he has maintained a tough, correct stance. Last night, during a meeting with Arab leaders, Antony Blinken was sent out yet again to reject a call for a ceasefire, though he said the White House remained open to “humanitarian pauses” for the delivery of aid. Joe Biden should be supported for holding firm and giving Israel the time it needs to destroy Hamas.

We also need to keep in mind that these massive protests are bringing people from all over the country to build a crowd of that size. The noisy pro-Hamas people only represent a tiny portion of America’s population. Might that be enough to weaken Biden and the Democrats next year? Possibly. But now is not the time to worry about that. Most of America still stands strongly with Israel and neither we nor the Israelis can afford to have Biden go wobbly now just because of a slip in his polling numbers. There’s just too much on the line.
