Late Sunday night, Amarillo police officers were sent to a bar in the 2800 block of Amarillo Boulevard East on a shooting. When officers arrived, they found a man deceased on the floor in the bar.
Officers learned the suspect and victim had been in an argument. The suspect left the bar after the initial confrontation.
After returning to the bar a short time later, the suspect shot and killed the victim. The suspect fled from the crime scene after the shooting.
The victim was identified as 31 year old Jose Gerardo Morales Zavala.
After a brief standoff at his home. the suspect taken into custody by the Amarillo PD SWAT team.
