Potter County GOP chair suspends campaign for State Rep.

Potter County GOP Chairman Dan Rogers announced Wednesday that he is suspending his campaign for Texas State Representative.

“Now, more than ever, it is critically important to have young people with true conservative values active in our community and state leadership.

"In recent weeks, I've had the privilege of meeting a promising young candidate with solid conservative values who is genuinely committed to representing the people of District 87. This candidate will have the resources needed to run an effective campaign and will draw broad conservative support.

"I am confident that this individual will serve our district with distinction," Rogers said.

Rogers announced in August that he was running for to replace current State Rep. Four Price in HD87. Price previouslus announced he would not be seeking re-election after his current term ends.

House District 87 is comprised of Potter, Carson, Hansford, Hutchinson, Lipscomb, Moore, Ochiltree and Sherman counties.
