Amarillo teen missing since July now safe and sound

On Thursday, October 5, 2023, Kiera Triplett walked into the Amarillo Police Department and spoke with the investigator assigned to her missing person case. She had been missing for 84 days.

"Thank you to everyone who called in tips and leads," the APD said. "We are so glad this had a positive outcome for Kiera and her family.."

Triplett, now 18 years old, had been missing since July 14.

Police asked the public's help to find her.

"We want to acknowledge the help from multiple agencies, including Lubbock PD and Sheriff, El Paso and DPS," police said. "Kiera’s family even employed a private investigator to aid in the search. We also appreciate all the social media and new coverage, and the billboards and posters in the panhandle region and all the way south to Lubbock. Thankfully, Kiera is safe and well and her family has requested privacy at this time."

The investigation continues as to where Triplett was for the last 12 weeks.
