Three people robbed at gunpoint in John Stiff Park

Late Tuesday night, Amarillo police officers were sent to a residence in the 6000 block of Hillside. Two females at the residence reported they had been robbed about 5-10 minutes earlier at John Stiff Park.

The women stated three male suspects threatened them with guns and demanded their purses and money. After the victims handed over their belongings, one of the women was struck in the face with a gun by a suspect.

About 40 minutes later, at 11:40 pm, the officers were called back out to John Stiff Park on a second robbery. The male victim said two men put a gun against his cheek and demanded his property. He fought back and the suspects beat him and took his property.

Both robberies are being investigated by the Violent Crimes Unit of the Amarillo Police Department. No arrests have been made in these robberies.
