With the Amarillo City Council's decision to part ways last week with former City Manager Jared Miller, Deputy City Manager Andrew Freeman will serve as the interim City Manager.
Freeman has over 15 years of experience in various roles within city government in the state of Texas.
“So, we want him to have everything that he needs to lead this team, and he has our full confidence, backing and support.
“We are going to have a discussion that allows us to look if there is anything else that will be better for the city and this organization.
"It would be nice if we took a few months and let Mr. Freeman gather his team and get everything going in the direction that the Council is moving and to make sure that we are all moving together," Amarillo Mayor Cole Stanley said.
