Dan Rogers announces bid for 87th Congressional District seat

Potter County GOP Chairman Dan Rogers announced his candidacy for the Texas House of Representatives District 87 on Thursday.

"I'm launching my campaign for House District 87.

"My time as Potter County GOP Chairman showed me the impact we can have. After hearing calls urging me to consider the opportunity to run, I realized the need for solid Conservatives untied to special interests in the Texas House of Representatives.

"I’m committed to leading by example, growing the party, engaging voters, and advancing conservative ideas that benefit all," Rogers said.

Current 87th District Sate Rep. Four Price announced that he will not seek reelection in 2024.

“It’s an honor for me to serve as the State Representative for the 87th District in the Texas House of Representatives, and I’m thankful to be representing the best people in Texas

“I am making known at this early stage of the campaign cycle, however, that I do not intend to seek re-election in 2024. Consequently, my current term of service will end in January 2025," Price said.

Earlier this month, Rogers announced he would not seek reelection as the Potter County GOP Chair in 2024.

"I am profoundly grateful for the opportunity to serve as Chairman of the Potter County Republican Party. Together, we have achieved significant milestones and strengthened our party's presence in Potter County," Rogers said.

Rogers was appointed by the Potter County Executive Committee in July of 2018. He was reelected as Potter County GOP Chair in 2020 and 2022.
