Amarillo police investigating weekend shootings

Early Saturday morning, Amarillo police officers were sent to the 700 block of SW 10th on a shots fired call.

When officers arrived they found a male victim had been taken to an area hospital with life threatening injuries from being shot.

Sunday morning, officers were sent to the area of NW 2 and N Tyler on shots fired and one person possibly injured.

While searching the area for a victim or suspects, the officers were told the male victim had been taken to an area hospital with non life threatening injuries due to being shot.

Officers interviewed the victim at the hospital.  He told them the shooting had occurred at a building in the 200 block of NW 6th after several people got into an argument.

The victim did not know the suspect. Officers located the crime scene and collected evidence.

Detectives from the APD violent crimes unit are investigating both of these shootings.
