Amarillo police investigating fatal shooting in south Amarillo

Early Thursday morning, Amarillo police officers were called to the 4100 block of south Travis Street on gunshots heard in the area. 

Officers located a male laying in the street suffering from a gunshot wound. Markell Damarion Toombs-Reed, 24, was pronounced deceased at the scene. 

The APD Homicide Unit is investigating the shooting. No arrests have been made at this time.
