WT student arrested for making terroristic threat

On Wednesday, the WTAMU Police Department was made aware of an incident involving a student making threatening comments to other students.

WT police officers and other area law enforcement agencies responded to the scene immediately, prepared for an active shooter event.

The response to this incident was due partly to social media rumors of an active shooter on WT's main campus in Canyon.

Upon the initial investigation at the scene, it was found that there was no active attack taking place. Officers then began trying to locate the suspect so that they could garner more information about the threat.

Through several witness statements, it was determined a terroristic threat had indeed been made and efforts were made to locate the suspect. The suspect was located in Tulia and taken into custody without further incident.

High Plains Pundit will update this story as more information becomes available.
