Late Monday afternoon, Borger police officers responded to a domestic disturbance in the 1300 block of Yows. Shortly after arriving on-scene, dispatch received a radio call of an officer down.
One of the Borger police officers was shot twice by a suspect at the scene. One round was non-critical, the second round struck the officer in the ballistic vest.
The wounded officer was rushed to the hospital in Borger by another member of the police department. Officials confirmed the officer was flown to an Amarillo hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
This shooting remains under investigation. The suspect was arrested without further incident.
