APD investigating threats made against AISD schools

On Wednesday, the Amarillo Police Department was made aware of a person making threats to some Amarillo ISD schools.

Investigators made contact with the person who made the threats. This person has not been arrested but detained in a safe place where the threats cannot be acted upon. 

APD has been in contact with local school districts and other law enforcement agencies to ensure there is no immediate danger to the children or schools.

"All threats and possible threats to our schools are taken seriously and fully investigated. If you see or hear something concerning, we encourage you to immediately reach out to your local law enforcement agency with that information," the APD said in a statement.

This incident remains under investigation.
