APD investigating fatal hit and run

Early Friday morning, Amarillo police officers were dispatched to a major accident in the 3200 block of I-40, North Frontage Road. 

When officers arrived, they located Gregory Gene Moore, 65, deceased. Moore had been in a wheelchair and in the outside lane of traffic. 

Moore was been struck by a westbound motor vehicle that left the scene. Investigators have yet to identify the vehicle in this incident.

This incident is being investigated by the Traffic Investigation Unit of the Amarillo Police Department.
