On Friday, Amarillo police officers were called to the intersection of Georgia and I-40 on a crash involving a pedestrian. A male pedestrian was on a median at the intersection.

Investigators said a black truck was westbound on the access road. The truck left the roadway and struck the pedestrian on the median.

The male pedestrian died at the scene.

APD officers stopped the truck at I-40 and Western, after the driver left the scene of the incident.

The driver of the vehicle has been identified as 20 year old Casey Curtis Howard. Howard was arrested for Accident Involving Injury/Death. He was booked into the Potter County Detention Center.

Amarillo police have not released the victim's names, since they have not located his next of kin. Love In Action, an organization that helps the homeless in Amarillo, confirmed the victim is 56 year old Lloyd Gene McMaster.
