Amarillo Fire Marshall investigators have arrested three juvenile subjects stemming from a three-alarm fire that occurred at a vacant hotel last week. These individuals have also been linked to starting two other fires causing extensive damage at a vacant house located near the hotel.
All three suspects have been charged with three counts of arson and were booked into the Youth Center of the High Plains.
On April 14, Amarillo firefighters responded to a 3 alarm blaze at the old Ambassador Hotel located at I-40 & Georgia. Firefighters found heavy fire and smoke coming from a 4th story window inside the atrium.
Firefighters set up a blitz-fire and the aerial ladder and had it knocked down quickly. They were able to stop it from spreading throughout the hotel and cleared every floor of smoke.
