Late Saturday night, Amarillo police officers were dispatched to northwest 13th Avenue and north Hughes Street on a person lying in the roadway.
Emergency personnel located a deceased male facedown in the road. The victim had a gunshot wound to the upper torso.
The victim was identified as 33-year-old Dwight Rashad Royal Jr.
