Authorities in Texas launched an investigation after three dismembered bodies were found burning in a dumpster.

The Fort Worth Police Department said they responded to a report of a dumpster fire behind an unnamed business on Sept. 22 at 6:17 a.m. local time and discovered the three bodies after firefighters extinguished the flames. The bodies were heavily burned and dismembered, and some body parts were “unaccounted for,” The Associated Press reported on Monday.

Police said the bodies appeared to be that of a man, a child and a teenage girl or adult woman. The man was identified on Friday as 42-year-old David Lueras, who had ties to the Fort Worth area, according to police.

“Identifying the perpetrators and suspects of this triple murder is the primary goal of this investigation,” the Fort Worth Police Department said in a news release. “The Fort Worth Police Department’s Homicide Unit is requesting public assistance in this investigation; any information relating to a missing person or persons fitting the description of the victims is appreciated.”
