Potter County deputies forced off road during pursuit


On Thursday, Potter County deputies attempted make a traffic stop with vehicle suspected of being involved in criminal activity. The vehicle was identified as a white Toyota Rav-4 bearing California license plate #8SNS404. 

A traffic stop was initiated on the vehicle, which exited W I-40 at Hope Rd. The vehicle fled from deputies. 

During the pursuit, another vehicle associated with the suspect car struck the marked patrol unit in its rear quarter panel, forcing it off the road and into the median. This vehicle was later identified as a white Infiniti QX30 bearing Florida license plate #QCQY38. 

The Infiniti has front end damage and is missing its black grille and silver logo. 

Both suspect vehicles continued eastbound, while the patrol unit was unable to continue pursuit. 

The deputies and Potter County K-9 were uninjured, but the marked unit sustained heavy damage.

Investigators said the driver of Rav-4 is a white male, slim build, fair complexion with a tattoo on the left side of his neck behind his left ear. There is currently no suspect description available for the driver of the QX30.
