Shooting at Amarillo business leaves 1 person dead

On Wednesday, Amarillo police officers were sent to the 7400 block of Amarillo Boulevard East on a shooting. 

A 56 year old business owner told officers that he found an unauthorized person inside the fence of his business property. The owner yelled at the suspect inside the fenced area at which time the male advanced towards the business owner with a weapon (sawzall) in his hand. 

The business owner shot the 33-year-old male who was declared deceased on scene. 

This shooting incident remains under investigation by the Amarillo Police Department Homicide Unit.
