By Amarillo City Charter, elections are held for all City Council seats in May of every odd year. The next general election is scheduled for Saturday, May 1, 2021. Each position is elected at-large by a majority of the register voters within the City limits.
The application and filing deadline for a place on the May 1 ballot was Friday, Feb. 12 at 5 p.m. The individuals who applied for Amarillo City Council are as follows, in alphabetical order:

The above list represents the unofficial candidates for Amarillo City Council. This list is subject to change, pending eligibility requirements set forth by Amarillo City Charter. Position on the May 1 ballot will be selected on Friday, February 19 at 8:30 a.m. via Zoom, at which time all candidates will be declared official.
