2020 I Heart Canyon event cancelled due to COVID-19

I Heart Canyon, a popular festival put on by Canyon area churches to benefit the families and students in the CISD community, has been cancelled this year due to COVID-19.

Below is a statement from event organizers:

Dear Friends,

We wanted to send a update in regards to this years I Heart Canyon Event, with a heavy heart we will not be having our annual event due to COVID-19. Instead we ask that you reach out to the CISD campus administrator that your church has adopted and see what the needs are for this next school year and help fulfill that. If you have NOT adopted a CISD campus then please reach out to one of the churches listed below and partner with them to help with school supplies, etc.

Here are the Churches that have adopted Canyon CISD campuses:

Freedom Fellowship: Crestview

Hillside: Reeves-Hinger

First United Methodist church: Canyon Intermediate

First Baptist church: Canyon Junior High

Summit Church: Canyon High School

Some good news is that The I Heart Canyon Job Initiative helped many people in our community due to job loss because of COVID-19. We sent out about 25,000.00! Praise God for the many donations at private partners that made that possible! Thank you all for donating to that cause.

We look forward to I Heart Canyon 2021!!

Blessings,

I Heart Canyon Team

I Heart Canyon seeks to provide a hand up at the start of a new school year. The resources and assistance include general school supplies with a backpack, a snack pack bag, a hair cut, sports physicals, eye screenings, and  dental screenings.

The event has a festival atmosphere including inflatables, a cookout with music playing, and park games being enjoyed.  An atmosphere of love and fun to help lift and encourage. While the goal of I Heart Canyon is to provide resources to the attendees, it is also to create a fun and festive environment making a physical and spiritual impact on each person.
